It is about 700 meters from the B&B La Codetta at an altitude of 334 meters above sea level, it is very interesting to take a walk on foot to visit it and immerse yourself in its spiritual and artistic value. It is a small village entirely made of stone, it was built to guard the nearby bridge over the Nera, the village still retains its medieval structure today and its shape is elliptical due to its location on the top of the hill crossed by ancient streets and rapid staircases typical of the architecture of the time. the urban layout is typical of perched castles with a splendid river terrace.
Here we find the famous ABBEY OF “SAINTS FELICE AND MAURO” from the 7th century AD. It is a place not to be missed. Every year in spring a famous exhibition “SPRING IN VALNERINA” is set up right near the ABBEY with more than 50 STAND with medicinal and unusual plants, pelargoniums, peonies, roses, orchids, camellias, fruit trees, horticultural plants, rare plants and saffron. As part of the event, guided walks in the area are offered by botanical experts aimed at recognizing and gaining closer knowledge of the place and the spontaneous plants of Valnerina.
